Step 4 - Talk
Have the following on your Contact Page
Same day reply. Text 0412 377 XXX. Include good times to call-back
Suburb, City. Australia. Your email
Don't use an appointment app. Take control and do the work for them. Serve them.
No one wants to learn an app and lock-themselves-in
If they text, "I'm available 7 - 7:30am weekdays" call them Mon, Tues and Wed until they answer (if no answer on Wednesday, text explaining the situation)
When you leave a message, say "don't call me back ..." because it'll be slow-death-by-phone-tag, say you will call again tomorrow morning same time, as agreed.
When you talk,
Have a pen and large writing pad. Record everything they say.
When you talk with them
Don't pitch, qualify or say anything salesy
Talk about movies and music if you want. Then HELP THEM. No Psychobabble. After 10-20 minutes check-in, ask, "how are we going so far?" This is a soft way of asking, "am I helping you?"
Maybe you don't fit. That's ok. Ask why?
If you 'fit', book a session. By phone, Cafe, library or 'walk n talk' (at Southbank?) In person is better. Get the $50 transferred, cash or the next day.
When you talk, check-in every 30 minutes by saying "how are we going?" too fast / slow? Too much / little of 'this', not enough 'that'? ... Finish in an hour or 2 when it feels right
At the end of the session, summarise and recap with them
Say you'll call them (no charge) in 7 days, same time. This is because YOU CARE about them. They are overloaded and will have questions and need clarification in 7 days.
Part company. Remind them they can pay more, up to $200
You'll probably try for a review or referral (see next article)
