Listening is too hard, unless you want to listen.

To find out what your customer values (salespeople call this 'benefits') you have to ask questions. Questions are useless unless you listen to answers. Listening is too hard unless you want to listen. Wanting to listen means being curious.

Train yourself to be curious.

Faking curiosity is too hard.

  • Walk in the library, what is that book about, pick it up, find out.

  • Walk a new route to work.

  • Is that a bar? Walk in, find out, if you see a staff member, say "I'm just sticky beaking." Then ask a question. No Pain No Gain
